What to Expect

Performance

Instant torque completely changes how a Beetle drives. Power delivery is smooth and immediate, comparable to a strong 2.0L dual carb setup, but without the noise, tuning, or fuel consumption. No revving it out, no chasing power, just press the pedal and go.

Driving Experience

The factory VW transmission works extremely well with electric. You can drive the car almost like an automatic:

• Leave it in gear around town
• No clutch work in traffic
• Reverse is handled by the motor, just flip a switch

We typically lock out 1st and 2nd gear to protect the transmission from torque load.
Most driving is done in 3rd gear, with a shift into 4th for highway speeds and improved range.

Regenerative Braking

When you lift off the throttle, the system slows the car down while putting energy back into the battery. This will:

• Reduce brake wear
• Make the car smoother to drive
• Add efficiency, especially in town

Range & Charging

Range depends on battery size and how the car is set up, but most builds fall into a practical range for real-world driving. Charging is simple and flexible:

• Level 2 charging capability
